PREACHING AT THE TEMPLE OF MINERVA

Francis no theologian begins his leap of faith. He walks through the streets of Assisi, day after day, preaching. “Buon giorno buono gente! Did you hear the good news? I am here as God’s servant. He told me to tell you to love one another. Can’t you feel the cool summer breeze of God? Close your minds and open your hearts. Pace e Bene.” As Francis was flogged with stones and lemon peels by the non believers, he said, “If you stone me once, God bless you. If you stone me twice, God bless you twice. Can’t you feel the Holy Spirit? He is with each and every one of you. Just open your heart and take that leap into the abyss. God loves you. Pace e Bene.”

SOGNANDO AD OCCHI APERTI

Francesco non e teologo, inizia il suo slancio di fede. Commina per le strade di Assisi ogni giorno predicando: “Buon giorno, buona gente! Avete sentito la buona novella? Sono il servo di Dio. Mi dice di esortarvi ad amarvi l’uno con l’altro. Sentite la dolce divina brezza dell’ estate? Chiudete la mente e aprie il cuore. Pace e bene.” Mentre Francesco veniva colpito da sassie da bucce di limoni dai non-credenti, diceva: “Se mi colpite con un sasso, Dio vi benedica. Se mi colpite due volte, Dio vi benedica due volte. Sentete lo Spiritom Santo? E in ognuno di voi. Aprie il cuore e buttatevi nell’abisso. Dio vi ama. Pace e bene.”
