FRANCIS EMBRACES SISTER DEATH

As Francis and Leone left Mount La Verna, Francis’ final request was to be placed near the Porzuncula, the tiny chapel home of his brothers just below Assisi. He asked to be placed where he could see his beloved Assisi. Before he died, there was much sadness from his brothers. They were losing their father. Francis said, “There will be no weeping for this is a day of great joy and you must carry on with me in your heart. My day has come and I have been truly thankful for my journey. God has blessed me with my brothers. When I die, bring me to San Damiano, so Clare and her sisters can see me at peace. Pace e Bene to all of you, for there is no greater love than God and the blessings he provides. Remember we are all brothers and sisters in Christ. Continue to pray for world peace. Pace e Bene.”

FRANCESCO ABBRACCIA SORELLA MORTE

Lasciando il Monte Averna, Francesco chiese come ultimo desiderio di essere posto vicino alla Porziuncola, la piccola cappella dei suci fratelli, sollo Assisi. Chiese di rimanere dove poteva vedere la sua Assisi prediletta. Prima della sua morte c’era tanta tristezza tra i suci fratelli. Stavano per perdere il Padre. Francesco disse: “Non piangete in questo giorno di grande gioia, dovete continuare con me nel vostro cuore. Il mio giorno e arrivato e sono riconscente del mio viaggio. Dio mi ha benedetto con i miei fratelli. Quando sono morto, portatemi a San Damiano cosi che Chiara e le sue Sorelle possano vedermi in pace. Pace e Bene a voi tutti, perche non esiste amore pui grande di Dio e delle benedizioni che Egli provvede. Ricordate che siamo tutti fratelli e sorelle in Cristo. Continuate a pregare per la pace nel mondo. Pace e Bene.”
