FRANCIS KNEELING IN PRAYER

Francis and Leone left for their long journey to Mount La Verna. Francis prayed intensely for God to give him his final blessing. He fasted for 40 days and nights during Michelmas. “Lord God, grant me the strength to get to You. My brothers are here by my side and with faith they will serve Your will as I did. Father Bless me with Your touch that I will know my life here was not in vain.

FRANCESCO S’INGINOCCHIA IN PREGHIERA

Francesco e Leone partirono per il lungo viaggio sul monte Averna. Francesco pregava intensamente affinché Dio gli concedesse la benedizione estrema. Digiunò per quaranta giorni e quaranta notti. “ O Signore, concedimi la forza di raggiungerti. I miei fratelli sono al mio fianco e con fede serviranno la tua volontà come ho fatto io. Padre, benedicimi con iol tuo tocco così che io sappia che la mia vita non è stata invana.”
