Matt Carlson grew up on the northeast side of Grand Rapids and graduated from Creston High School in 1991. He ultimately earned a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from Michigan Technological University, graduating in 1996. Following graduation, he began his career at Stantec in Okemos, MI where he is a currently a Project Manager. He celebrated his 30th year in 2026 and is occasionally allowed to still dabble in the engineering arts.

Matt and his wife of 27 years, Anne, enjoy traveling, especially to visit their only child, Chase, in Columbia, SC where he attends the University of South Carolina. He is an avid Michigan State Spartan fan but now must root for the South Carolina Gamecocks too. Matt enjoys many weekends at their cabin on the Muskegon River’s Hardy Dam Pond when he is not diligently working on his skills on the golf course. He has been a board member since 2021 and currently serves as the Board’s Secretary.
